This exhibition explores the quality and experience of being an urbanite by presenting a species of aesthetic events couched in both nostalgia and the senses. This complex yet ongoing phenomenon contains many singular events which together create one continuous yet commonplace distinction: the recognition of a total environment. How does this environment guarantee our identity as human beings in the modern world? How does it transform us? There are both didactic elements to this experience and narrative ones. They both provide the basics for a successive and accruant reckoning with our environment and ourselves.

On Sunday, March 7 (3-5 PM) there will be a panel discussion featuring artists from the exhibition, who will each reflect upon how their work aids us in comprehending and reckoning with the various elements which comprise the urban sphere. All are welcome to this exciting public event. Rereshments will be served.
